MDD IN YSO
Teach Music, Dance and/or Drama in schools in poorer communities. The Arts are an excellent means of communicating and can also be plain downright fun for the kids! You don't need any qualifications., just lots of enthusiasm.

Make a difference ... get involved!

Drama is an excellent way to address social issues and enable children to express their frustrations and confusions - and perhaps help them to understand and learn to cope with unwelcome situations.

Drama can be a wonderful aid to teaching children life skills, communication skills and, not least, socialising skills. It can also be plain downright fun for the kids! Music and dance frees the spirit and brings out the creative forces in children.

ABOUT TEACHING DRAMA, MUSIC OR DANCE
Children from all backgrounds can participate in drama, developing essential skills by learning to express themselves and gain self-confidence.
You will teach in classes and sometimes informally outside the classroom. During your project, you may be able to produce a play or a musical and invite the parents to come and watch. During your project, you'll live in a house with other Travellers volunteers.

Nervous about standing in front of a class and teaching for the first time?
If you have no experience and you're nervous at the idea of teaching, don't worry, you're not alone.
We provide you with a Teaching Suggestions Guide which we've put together for our volunteers. It is packed with guidelines to help you plan lessons and has many
examples and ideas for topics and games to use in class to help the children gain confidence in using English, but can be adapted to help you in planning your drama, music or dance classes.
We hope to seeing you here!!!!!
